Fedora lands $1M to help 'million dollar' teachers reach bigger audiences online

Funding Rounds

Summary

Ankur Nagpal, an entrepreneur who made a small fortune through Facebook quizzes, is now looking to help teachers get better branding and mo’ money. Fedora, the company Nagpal started last fall, is an e-commerce platform that enables teachers to sell classes and workshops through personal websites. Existing platforms provide nice opportunities for class discovery, but they don’t necessarily keep students coming back to one particular teacher. The company, which publicly launched in February, closed a $1 million round of seed funding in August and already has some interesting clients. Fedora raised its seed round on AngelList with contributions from Kamal Ravikant, Naval Ravikant, Matt Brezina, Aaron Batalion (founder, Living Social), Billy Draper (Draper Associates), Winklevoss Capital, Maiden Lane Ventures, AngelList Syndicate Fund and Adam Foroughi (founder, AppLovin).
