ShieldSquare raises Rs 2 crore in angel funding from 15 entities

BANGALORE: City-based ShieldSquare has raised angel funding backed by a pool of 15 investors, entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals from India, Singapore, and US. The investors including enterprise software maker Freshdesk’s Girish Mathrubootham; red-Bus founders Phanindra Sama, Charan Padmaraju, and Sudhakar Pasupunuri as well as Murugavel Janakiraman of BharatMatrimony, have together pooled in Rs 2 crore in the angel round. When they came up with the idea of anti-content scraping it resonated with me as I saw a lot of intellectual thefts happenings,” said Chandu Nair, lead investor at ShieldSquare and a member of Chennai Angels. “The plan is to make the software available on a selfserve model,” Sanjay Anandaram, angel investor and mentor at ShieldSquare. The founders had previously setup ArrayShield, a two-factor authentication product company with customers in US, Europe and Asia targeted at enterprises.
