Infochimps Uses Capital To Launch New Cloud Targeted at Intelligent Applications – Jim Kaskade

Now that the chimps have welcomed me in, I’m quickly feeling the change begin. Not sure how to describe it, but instead of hanging out with the family on weekends, I have an urge to climb trees. It’s apparent that web and mobile applications are going to begin a transformative change in 2013. I predict a new generation of “data-driven” applications which will turn static one-dimensional applications into multi-dimentional and interactive applications. In order to fuel the Infochimps vision to enabling this new generation of applications, we have raised $1.9M in additional financing (brining the company’s total raise to $4.5M) to immediately fuel our launch of an upcoming enterprise cloud service, targeted specifically at this new “intelligent application” space with a purpose-built cloud service for enterprises.
