EEA shortlist: Pico Technology
Summary
PicoScope 3000E series are laboratory-class instruments but at just 221 x 173 x 300mm size and 0.7kg weight are small and portable enough for home field working. Clock and data speeds are increasing, voltage tolerances are becoming finer, and design complexity continues to climb. Component testing and circuit debugging requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software, as well as the ability to correlate issues across both. Oscilloscopes are the primary tools used by designers to view and analyse the performance of their prototype circuits before committing to production. Used in conjunction with other test and measurement tools and in-circuit debuggers oscilloscopes give insight that enables the designer to identify logic and timing errors, communication faults, signal integrity issues and range-of-operation reliability statistics.
