New Engineering Design Center for AMD Opens in Serbia
Summary
“Our investments in Serbia are a testament to the Balkan region’s strong engineering talent, and we are excited to collaborate with HTEC, local universities and the vibrant ecosystem in Belgrade and Nis as we deepen our presence in the region over the coming years.” “As a long-standing engineering development partner of AMD, we are pleased to have supported the successful establishment of its new design center in Serbia. AMD’s investments will further contribute to the continued growth of the technology ecosystem in Serbia,” says Aleksandar Cabrilo, CEO of HTEC. Under leadership of industry veteran Đorđe Simić, AMD teams will focus on developing artificial intelligence (AI), graphics and software technologies for use across multiple products, as well as on optimizing open-source tools, libraries and models. “It is great to be part of the company that is pioneering AI advancements and constantly pushing the boundaries in semiconductor and software innovations.” AMD most recently expanded its engineering presence in the Balkan region with the opening of a research and development center in 2021 in Iasi, Romania, and will keep working with HTEC and other regional technology services firms to supplement software and hardware development projects. AMD also plans to establish collaboration with local universities to provide educational resources and engineering internship programs.
