General Dynamics acquires special operations tech specialist

Acquisitions

Summary

General Dynamics’ IT services unit has moved on its first acquisition since the purchase of CSRA that changed the GDIT business forever over six years ago. This newest transaction announced Monday sees GDIT acquire Iron EagleX, a provider of technology solutions to Special Operations Command and intelligence agencies. Iron EagleX describes its tech priorities as covering artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, software development and cloud computing. The veteran-owned business has posted approximately $17.5 million in unclassified prime revenue with roughly 94% of that spend from Special Operations Command and the remainder from the Air Force, according to GovTribe data. For GDIT, its addition of the seven-year-old IEX business follows the Spring 2023 launch of a digital accelerator strategy that lays out six main areas of investment with AI, cyber and software development among them.
