The two have also entered into a strategic collaboration.Krishna Kumar, founder and CEO of Simplilearn said that their partnership with the Times Group will help them reach a much wider pool of aspiring white-collared workers.Founded in 2009 by Krishna Kumar, Simplilearn, offers a multitude of training and IT certifications in areas like advanced cloud computing and six sigma, through a combination of online classes and in-person workshops. It provides professional skilling courses in areas such as digital marketing, data sciences, project management, and IT Infrastructure.Simplilearn claims to have already trained over 4 lakh people in the last six years and is training about 20,000 new users every month.Before this, the startup had raised $15 Mn in series C funding led by Mayfield Fund, along with participation from Kalaari Capital and Helion Venture Partners.The Edtech space is experiencing great traction. While in March this year, Bangalore-based, Byju and HashLearn and Mumbai-based Testbook raised fundings.
