TransGrid Wallgrove Battery
Summary
The TransGrid Wallgrove Battery project will be equipped with synthetic inertia and fast frequency response capabilities. TransGrid will also complete modelling and monitoring of the projects response during grid disturbances to better understand the technologys capability and its impact on the NSW power system.The key objective is to demonstrate the technical capability of batteries with advanced inverter capabilities to replace traditional inertia and, in doing so, demonstrate that batteries can provide the most cost effective solution for NSWs upcoming inertia shortfall.
