Amelia, a ground-breaking startup focusing on womens health, has emerged as a beacon of change for vaginal health products. The UNSW Founders Health 10x Program alum is using innovation to work toward health inclusivity on a global scale.At the helm of Amelia is Founder and Director Catherine Slogrove. Frustrated with the lack of options available for women, Slogrove worked with a dedicated team to create a science-driven vaginal probiotic.Amelia has created a vaginally inserted probiotic with a specific focus on supporting a healthy vaginal microbiome, developed by scientists through thorough R&D. Spurred on by personal experience and determination to address a global issue, Slogrove hit the ground running as a Founder and embarked on a mission to revolutionise the world of vaginal health products for women.Currently, 2.2 billion women experience recurring infections and clinical research has shown that populating the vagina with healthy bacteria makes a tangible difference.Slogrove said that it was this extreme gap in research that inspired her to start Amelia.I started Amelia after realising the current R&D in vaginal health was woeful. I have lived experience with vaginal infections and wanted to create a business that supported womens health at a moment of vulnerability.
