Randstad Digital acquires GenAI-powered talent marketplace Torc

Netherlands-based Randstad NV has acquired Boston, Massachusetts-based generative AI (GenAI)-powered talent marketplace Torc, according to a press release from the former. Founded in 2021, Torc describes itself as “a specialized network where nearshore remote developers working on the most advanced, cloud-native technologies can find great work and help one another advance their careers … [it] uses intelligent processes to identify, match and manage talent and empower customers to measure success based on productivity metrics.” Randstad CEO Sander van’ t Noordende said: “The Torc acquisition strengthens Randstad’s partner for talent strategy in our Digital specialization. It expands our access to a diverse range of talent skill sets and a robust developer community from assessment to productivity. We are extremely excited to welcome an industry thought leader in open talent platforms, Michael Morris, Torc CEO and co-founder, and his team to Randstad Digital.” In a December 2023 press release, Torc said its community had exceeded 20,000, with an average join rate of two developers per hour and Latin America emerging as a major source of growth. “These two objectives — LATAM expansion and AI advancement — run parallel and fuel Torc’s roadmap for growth as a global talent network.
