An AI-powered adtech startup wants to automate repetitive tasks in ad operations. Read the pitch deck it used to raise $3 million.
Summary
Ardent Venture Partners, Roster Capital, and AperiamVentures participated in the round.PilotDesk, an adtech startup that automates many of the repetitive processes usually handled by a human, announced Thursday that it had raised a $3 million seed funding round. The startup aims to help its clients reduce the money they spend on advertising operations. The 12-person company said it plans to use the funding to further invest in its product, so that soon the platform can use artificial intelligence to suggest automation for users and eventually make some decisions on their behalf.Launched this year by the cofounders of SpringServe, a connected-TV ad server that sold to the publicly traded adtech company Magnite for $31 million in 2021, the idea behind PilotDesk came from years of observing user behavior on adtech platforms. PilotDesk integrates itself with the users API, or application programming interface, meaning its tech can work across any platform without it having to sign partnership deals with each individual company, Hirsch said. Phil Herget, general partner of Ardent, said PilotDesk is a good fit for the venture firms "AI agents thesis," where it has predicted that enterprise software will be supplanted by large language model-based tech capable of automating complex workflows and decision-making thats usually handled by humans. PilotDesk is "well positioned to tackle future industry challenges by freeing up skilled teams to focus on the creative aspects of advertising that humans excel at, while purpose-built technology handles the more routine tasks its well suited for," Herget said.
