Meliorate Fund III Invests in Inversa Leathers

Meliorate Fund III, a member of the Meliorate Partners fund group, announced a new investment in Inversa Leathers, an emerging leader in the sustainable fashion alternative leather sector. Meliorate is joining current investors Superorganism, the leading biodiversity innovation fund in the US, and Boston ocean collective Sea Ahead. Inversa contracts with governments to create and operate catch programs and marketplaces for invasive species such as Dragonfin (Asian Carp in Mississippi River), Lion Fish (tropical waters), and Python (Everglades). It then turns the catches into high end leathers, which it markets under the Inversa brand, meeting rapidly growing demand from the sustainable fashion marketplace. The result is regenerating ecosystems damaged by invasive species, while bringing a new and more sustainable solution to the $100bn leather market.
