Campbell awards $880K to 44 nonprofits

As part of an ongoing effort to give back to the communities where it operates, Campbell Soup Co. awarded $880,000 in grants to more than three dozen nonprofits that are making a difference.The Camden-based company, along with the employee-led Campbells Foundation, provides support to groups working to increase food access and encourage healthy lifestyles through its annual Community Impact Grant program.The newly announced recipients include 44 organizations across 16 U.S. states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Each will receive $20,000 to support programming and operations.Within New Jersey, six Camden-area groups were awarded grants:According to Campbell, the grants cover a variety of programs, such as food pantries, farmers markets, nutrition education, food waste initiatives, physical activities and public/park spaces.The Campbells Foundation was founded in 1953.
