OET at the World Energy Summit 2024

The World Energy Summit #WFES, which took place from 16-18 April, at the National Exhibition Centre of Abu Dhabi, was attended by the Nanotechnologies & Organic Electronics Ecosystem, OET-Organic ElectronicTechnologies P.C, the COPE-Nano Nanotechnology Lab LTFN Centre of Excellence and the HellenicOrganic & Printed Electronics Association HOPE-A. Fora such as the Global Future of Energy Summit offer critical opportunities for stakeholders from different sectors to exchange views, sparking ideas and collective action," Shekha Shamma, President and CEO of the Independent Authority for Sustainability and Climate Change (UAE-UICCA), among other speakers, said, welcoming representatives from the worlds leading companies, institutions and organisations from 150 countries to the event. During the World Future Energy Summit, and subsequently in Dubai, the founder of the Nanotechnology and Organic Electronics Ecosystem, President of OET and HOPE-A Association Professor Stergios Logothetidis had a series of contacts with company representatives, companies, businesses, organisations, politicians and opinion makers, explaining among others the possibilities and benefits of the installation of the Giga-Factories of mass production of translucent organic photovoltaic systems created by the European project Flex2Energy. When the assembly line and factory being built by OET as part of Flex2Energy is completed, it will produce more than 1,000,000 m2 of organic photovoltaic panels per year. In the achievement of this goal, in which Greece plays a key role, OET collaborates with five other Greek institutions (LTFN Nanotechnology Laboratory, Alumil, Kyriakidis Glass, Depia, HOPE-A) and gradually makes Europe energy independent, providing revolutionary solutions in the direction of Sustainable Development and the Circular Economy since organic photovoltaics are the most recyclable and environmentally friendly.
