SC Launch awards $300K investment to Piedmont-based Viatec

South Carolina Research Authoritys investment affiliate, SC Launch, announced Feb. 21 it awarded a $300,000 investment to Viatec, a Piedmont-based company that provides plug-and-play electronic power take-off systems.The businesss electrification solutions, SmartPTO, SmartPX, and SmartAPU, work to lower fuel and maintenance costs and reduce emissions while creating a clean, quiet worksite. Viatec also has several other systems to eliminate constant diesel idling in large vehicles, such as EMS trucks, and maintain power and temperature in tractor-trailer driver cabins.Viatec is an exemplary company offering innovative and sustainable products and services, said SCRA President and CEO Bob Quinn. Their superior customer service rounds out a company positioned for continued growth in the auxiliary power industry.The business became an SCRA member company in 2017 and an SC Launch Inc. portfolio company in 2018. It has received a $25,000 project development fund grant and a $46,000 demonstration grant, as well as $450,000 from SC Launch in investments.
