Just back from San Diego where a team from Just - Evotec Biologics participated at the Biomanufacturing World Summit 2023. over the last week. Here are my 3 more personal reflections against our own vision of global access to medicines, based on a technology paradigm shift. There is substantial interest in next-generation manufacturing approaches based on process intensification and integration - with the apparent advantages of speed to patient/market, quality, and, last but not least, costs. Regulators are very interest given the apparent advantages (noted by Peter Marks, FDA) as are many leaders in (big) pharma but the adoption is still in an early inning (some commentary it could take 5-10+ years) - do we have to be much bolder as patients across the world need us? Our own J.POD technology stack is live, in Seattle, Redmond, and very soon in Toulouse - reach out, there is no need to wait for capturing the productivity and quality advantages as of today.
