INTAV SRL is an Italian company with more than 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing luminous and acoustic warning devices for emergency, rescue, and operative vehicles. To improve its technological measurement and design capacities, the company was looking for a metrology solution able to quickly capture part dimensions – especially when original drawing data could not be provided by the customer or supplier. The Go!SCAN SPARK scanner convinced the company after a practical test, as it fulfilled all the requirements, and provided great value for money and precise data. INTAV took advantage of the good quality of the scan to have very realistic chassis interfaces that could be used as a template to create the best possible fit with the part they needed to develop. According to Hermann Molteni, Mechanical Designer at INTAV, the 3D scanner greatly facilitated the process of integrating parts within both large and small narrow spaces.
