Main outcomes and recommendations of the projectThe idea was developed by Future Intelligence, a Greek Internet of Things solution provider, f-in.gr/. It also fuses them with existing open public Weather Stations data (the system automatically finds and pairs with the most proximate WS on each farm) while it requires from the users (farmers and mentors currently) to upload some additional data (cultivated crop, kind of mentoring service offered etc). Some of the benefits include: Farmers control their property in an easy and more insightful way, They now have farm data that can later pass to B2C context (eg with the support of a packaging company) giving full traceability to real-time farm conditions. This way they are now unveiling their competitive advantage for the first time data and additional information on their eco-friendly farm management practices), They can easily access specialized advices based on real data, They can also seek for business intelligence advices and how to better promote/ launch their products in the market, the mentors can now offer advices based on tangible facts that help build common ground with their customer, The whole organic production sector smoothly moves to the digital era, There is no kind of disruption among the physical players/ actors of the field (eg the platform dont automatically offer advices; it aims to engage the relevant player by increasing his business potential) Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, trade of services and overall wealth for the participants is increasedThe platform is developed upon FIWARE, the EU platform for the Future Internet. Possible drawback is the technical complexity of the solution as well as the fact that addresses agriculture, a rather late adopter of technology pace.
