Embrace Receives $100,000 Grant from Alliance Healthcare Foundation

It allows for the flexibility needed to address the changing environment and enables the organization to focus on the services and programs most likely to make a difference in the lives of the people they serve.The organization focuses on the utilization of college students and recent graduates to develop their leadership qualities and remedy community problems such as health disparities and homelessness on a volunteer basis.Founder Sean Sheppards ultimate goal is to bring about legislation that makes community service mandatory for all college students that attend state funded institutions of higher education.“More specifically, Embrace was chosen for a grant because it is advancing health and wellness for those in need, especially the vulnerable population of the homeless which is one of our strategic priority populations.”Embrace has received AHF funding on two previous occasions in the form of planning grants that allowed the organization to fine tune it’s student volunteer model as it relates to delivering wellness services in the San Diego community.“Building upon an already solid working relationship with the AHF staff, I anticipate, with their assistance, rolling out stronger, more innovative programs to better assist the community in need,” Said Sean Sheppard, Founder of Embrace.The organization focuses on the utilization of college students and recent graduates to develop their leadership qualities and remedy community problems such as health disparities and homelessness on a volunteer basis.
