3-day workshop for secondary school students concludes at IUST

Awantipora, Nov 25: The Department of English Language and Literature, IUST concludes its three-day Workshop on English Language Skills held for Secondary School students under university’s Community Outreach Programme. The workshop in addition to this, aimed at fostering independent learning and participation attitude among the students. Another area of focus of the workshop was to encourage students to integrate various linguistic skills in a fruitful manner. She deliberated upon how educational institutions, in particular universities must acquire Transformative Competence so that students are able to apply their knowledge and learning in changing circumstances and practical situations. Dr. Munejah Khan, Head Department of English and Dean School of Humanities and Social Sciences underlined the importance of conducting such workshops and laid stress on having more such programmes in the future in order to build a strong and healthy relationship between IUST and the local community.
