PRESS RELEASE: Jim Joseph Foundation Invests in HDNA
Summary
The Jim Joseph Foundation, one of Americas largest and most influential Jewish funders, has selected a Habonim Dror North America (HDNA) youth leadership development program to be among its new round of projects aimed at training the next generation of Jewish educational leaders. HDNA --a progressive Zionist youth movement founded in 1935--is using the 3-year, $600,000 grant to expand its year-round high school leadership development program. We are excited to be expanding our movements activities and training opportunities offered to our teen membership, and we are honored by the confidence in our work shown by the Jim Joseph Foundation, said HDNAs (North American Director) Eitan Goldstein. The Jim Joseph grant to expand and learn from HDNAs leadership development expertise aligns with a 2013 study by Steven M. Cohen and Steven Fink, Building Progressive Zionist Activists , that highlighted the impressive representation of Habonim Dror alumni in Jewish communal leadership positions. Internationally, HDNA is connected with Habonim Dror movements in over a dozen countries, as well as with HaNoar HaOved vHaLomed (NOAL) * (Builders) uses a gender-neutral Hebrew plural form and reflects HDNAs commitment to promote gender inclusion through the use of innovative changes in the Hebrew language.
