The European Commission has informed Adobe of its preliminary view that its proposed acquisition of Figma could reduce competition in the global markets for the supply of interactive product design software and other creative design software. The Commission has opened an in-depth investigation to assess Adobes proposed acquisition of Figma and to determine whether the transaction is likely to affect competition in the worldwide markets for the supply of interactive product design software, vector editing software and raster editing software. Following this in-depth investigation, the Commission has reached the preliminary conclusion that the transaction could significantly reduce competition in the worldwide markets for: (i) the supply of interactive product design tools, in which Figma is the undisputed market leader and Adobe one of its main competitors; and (ii) the supply of vector editing tools and the supply of raster editing tools, by eliminating Figma as a potential competitor, thereby reinforcing Adobes dominance in these markets .
