The round was led by Pantera Capital with participation from Founders Fund, Galaxy, Coinbase’s Base Ecosystem Fund and Modular Capital. The company intends to use the funds to grow its flagship product Avantis. Avantis is an advanced margin-based perpetuals platform for trading and market-making cryptocurrencies, forex and commodities. It leverages perpetual contracts, also known as “perpetuals,” a type of derivative contract that allow traders to speculate on the price of an underlying asset, such as a cryptocurrency, without actually owning the asset. These contracts are called “perpetual” because they do not have an expiration date and can be held indefinitely.
