Comptek Solutions Raises €8M in Series A Funding

Comptek Solutions, a Turku, Finland-based developer of surface engineering technologies that enable the manufacturing of semiconductor devices, raised €8m in Series A funding. Backers included the HorizonEurope EIC Fund and LIFTT S.p.A., an Italian venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in startups and SMEs with high growth impact and ESG. The company intends to use the funds for growth, advancing its technological innovation, and accelerating the pace of industrialization and implementation of its technology for next-generation applications in optoelectronics and power electronics. Founded in June 2017 by CTO Jouko Lång and CEO Vicente Calvo Alonso, as a spin off of the University of Turku, Finland, Comptek has developed Kontrox, its novel processing technology that enables high levels of chip efficiency and helps reduce production costs, and which can be instrumental in the fast adoption of innovations such as 5G/6G communications, AR/VR, mobility, IoT, and quantum computing.
