The Congregation
Summary
The Congregation was founded in 2017 by Joel Newton to cultivate redemptive artists, content, and capital in the entertainment industry. The company organizes cohorts of artists for a 1 year program that combines discipleship with project development. In 2019, Newton directed Tutankhamun: Enter The Tomb, a VR movie starring Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) that premiered at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Hunt, Newton, and Gavigan most recently teamed up to produce Experience Yosemite, a VR film starring Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad). The company is currently in development on multiple film and TV series, including Ferguson, a mini-series setup with ABC Studios and Race to Equality, a feature length documentary exploring redemptive ventures that are pioneering solutions to the United States racial wealth gap.
