On November 18, 2020, Seward & Kissel client Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced that it had entered an agreement to fund the acquisition of a controlling interest of Ranger Investment Management, L.P. by its management team.Under the terms of the agreement, the management team of Ranger Investment Management, L.P. (Ranger) will acquire a controlling interest in the firm from Ranger Capital Group. Upon completion of the transaction, Ranger will be led and controlled by its management team. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Meir Grossman and Jon Brose, counsel Julia Spivack, Michael OBrien and Christopher Carlson, and associates Danielle Lemberg, Jaime Ma, Melissa Matchett, Brett Cotler, Steven Starr, Jay Baroody, Michael Stachiw, Sean Flynn and Katherine Porter represented Kudu in connection with the transaction.Ranger is a Dallas-based boutique SEC-registered investment manager that specializes in small and micro-cap U.S. growth strategies.
