EdCast, a Mountain View, CA-based company providing a knowledge media and intelligence learning platform for individuals, teams and organizations, completed a $16m Series B round of financing.The round, which follows a $6m Series A round raised in late 2014, was led by GE Asset Management with participation from SoftBank Capital, Cervin Ventures, Stanford StartX Fund and Penta Global.Led by Karl Mehta, Founder & CEO, EdCast operates a knowledge network built to educate individuals, teams and organizations via curated and contextual bite-size insights (called SmartBitesTM), with live access to subject experts.The company’s knowledge networks is used by social, mobile and cloud-based informal learning for institutions, enterprises, governments and nonprofits.EdCast, a Stanford StartX company, recently announced a partnership with HP to power its HP LIFE knowledge community of over 500,000 users worldwide.
