How to find your SOLIDWORKS Installation Log files

These logs will assist us in determining the corrective actions required for an installation to proceed. Prior releases made it a tad challenging to find the log files as they would be located deep within a user’s folder structure. Starting with the 2016 release of SOLIDWORKS, user were provided with an easier method to gather the log files together! • Right-Click the gray title bar at the top of the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager dialog as shown in the figure below. • Choose the “Gather Installation Logs…” option and save the resulting zip file in a known location for a later upload.
