PTC adds real-time remote collaboration to Creo+ CAD software
Summary
Creo+, from manufacturing software firm PTC, will include features from the latest version of the program alongside additional cloud-based capabilities to enable quicker and more collaborative work. The tool, which was announced yesterday (16 May) at the company’s annual LiveWorx digital transformation conference near its headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, will launch later this year. As well as real-time collaboration, enabling multiple team members to review, explore and edit product designs, the program will also be accessible via web browser. “With Creo+, our customers will be enabled to design faster, easier, and more collaboratively than ever before,” said Brian Thompson, Creo general manager at PTC. The program ‘locks’ components that are being worked on, preventing two engineers from editing the same thing at the same time, before combining the changes by merging separate branches together.
