Just six of the digital music services we were writing about in the early noughties that havent returned from the deadpool to raise $7.5m funding rounds in 2021. Turntable\xb7fm.The avatar-based social music service came back in March this year, using a Patreon to fund its return. Now founder Billy Chasen has announced the $7.5m round led by VC firm Andreessen Horowitz.Only with this community support could we have gotten to this point. And now with the new fundraising, we can continue to innovate and truly explore the cross section of social + music, wrote Chasen in a blog post. I have a lot of ideas for the space and Im excited to start building them.Reactions have been mixed so far.
