Macquarie puts US software group FiscalNote back on Aussie radars
Summary
There’s a curious invite floating around fund managers’ inboxes, with stockbroker Macquarie reviving interest in the now US-listed software group FiscalNote. Washington-based FiscalNote was an Australian IPO contender a few years ago, when local investors were lapping up new software companies, the ASX was hunting listings globally and the market was more focused on growth and potential than near-term earnings. While FiscalNote raised pre-IPO funds in Australia via Macquarie and Bell Potter, it ended up listing in New York via a SPAC deal mid last year. Macquarie’s lined up local funds to meet its president and chief operating officer Josh Resnik next week, while Bell Potter’s understood to have hosted a call this week. The meetings were flagged as “non-deal” in nature, however they piqued fundies’ interest: why would a US-listed small cap be meeting Aussie investors, and why would the local brokers be keen to be involved?
