Winner Ransomware
Summary
Once activated, the Winner Ransomware targets various file types and modifies their filenames by adding a unique ID, the attackers email address (Loapser@gmail.com) and a .Winner extension. Additionally, the Winner Ransomware leaves behind a ransom note delivered as a text file named Read.txt on the desktop of the breached device. Victims of the Winner Ransomware are warned that if contact with the cybercriminals is not established within 48 hours, their data will remain inaccessible. These attacks can cause financial harm to individuals and businesses due to the encryption of their vital files, meaning that only after paying a ransom fee will the victims be able to access them. Additionally, if taking the payment doesnt satisfy the attacker, further threats of personal or private data being exposed may follow.
