Ciena Healthcare is collaborating clinically with Detroit’s Sinai Grace Hospital in an innovative pilot program to provide staff training, patient educational materials and other resources for the Cardiac Rehab Unit.Recently undergoing extensive renovations, which included new nursing stations, window treatments, flooring and a state-of-the-art Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, our 140-bed community is convenient and caring for all residents of southeast Michigan.Ciena’s vision is to change the way senior residences are operated and perceived by providing communities that feature private rooms, ambiance, attention to detail, fresh food preparations and 24-hour dining options, all delivered by high quality, compassionate and dedicated professional support staff.“Our goal is to expand specialty units such as this to other Ciena communities where there is a need and where we can make a positive difference.”The Cardiac Rehab Unit at Hartford aims to address the critically important need for properly trained and skilled staff to deliver the most advanced care and information to cardiac patients, while also reducing hospital readmissions, as mandated by the STAAR initiative.The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) launched the State Action on Avoidable Rehospitalizations (STAAR) initiative in May 2009 as a multi-state, multi-stakeholder approach to reduce rehospitalizations and improve the delivery of care at a regional scale.Ciena’s vision is to change the way senior residences are operated and perceived by providing communities that feature private rooms, ambiance, attention to detail, fresh food preparations and 24-hour dining options, all delivered by high quality, compassionate and dedicated professional support staff.
