Mexican femtech Plenna raises a $4.4M seed-round for women’s health platform

Mexico-based femtech Plenna secured a $4.4 million seed-round led by Urban Innovation Fund, with participation from Canary VC, Collaborative, 1984 VC, 500 Global, Bridge Latam, Amador Holdings, Nido Ventures, Integra Groupe, Phoenix Club and others.Plenna is the first Mexican femtech offering a comprehensive health services platform in Latin America. Plenna offers in-person gynecology services and virtual mental health, nutrition, gynecology and primary care services through a direct-to-consumer (DTC) model.The fresh funds will be used to expand its services and support the launch of its new platform where patients can view their medical records, pre-fill their medical histories, and more; while physicians can collaboratively interact with each other, providing comprehensive diagnoses and tracking key patient metrics.Plenna was founded in 2021 by Mexicans Giovanna Abramo and Lorena Ostos to solve the main problems women face when receiving medical care: from breaking strong taboos that limit access to care, to finding the right provider, and sharing medical records and results with patients and among specialists. Plenna seeks to solve the problems caused by the lack of timely and comprehensive diagnostics.Plenna is both a healthcare and technology company.
