It is aimed at Mac users and its primary focus appears to be the delivery of unwanted advertisements. Programs of this type are rarely distributed through normal channels, as users are extremely unlikely to download and install them willingly. Instead, adware, browser hijackers, and other dubious applications could be included in software bundles, fake installers, etc. More importantly, advertisements delivered by adware are highly likely to promote untrustworthy destinations, such as hoax websites, fake giveaways, dubious online betting/gaming platforms and more. And while the advertisements occupy the attention of the user, these PUPs could silently perform additional invasive actions in the background of the system.
