ViQi, Inc. awarded an SBIR Phase IIB grant from the U.S. Department Of Energy: Interactive Visualization of Multi-Terabyte Datasets on Commodity Hardware

General News

Summary

ViQi Inc, a California cloud-based image analysis company specializing in using artificial intelligence for the scientific discovery process, announced today the receipt of a Phase IIB DOE grant to support commercialization of machine learning to automate image analysis on 3D cultured cells such as organoids and spheroids.Three dimensional cell cultures are being increasingly used by pharmaceutical companies to study potential new drugs. While these cultures are a much closer match to conditions in vivo, they lead to long turn-around times, additional sample processing steps, and more complex image analysis. This platform will reduce assay development time, while providing easy to use analysis tools without requiring additional software or hardware installation. We are excited to receive this Phase IIB grant. ViQi is already a leader in cloud based image analysis, including 3D visualization in standard browsers, and AIs for cellular assays. This grant will allow us to apply our technology to 3D cultures and enable personalized medicine and drug discovery in more physiologically relevant conditions, commented Dr. Christian Lang, ViQis Chief Information Officer, and Principal Investigator of the DOE grant.
