Air and gas leaks can be a nightmare to detect, especially in a large factory where there can be a labyrinth of pipes and joints. Sherwood notes that: “For years, detecting leaks with pressurised systems has been really laborious and a time-consuming process. There’s been a number of methods that have been tried and tested over the years…[all] time consuming methods.” Fluke has now launched an acoustic imager of its own, with some ground-breaking, innovative sound sight technology. The reason for this is it has a dedicated microphone array, which displays over a digital image, which wasn’t done before.
