Digi-Key at Embedded World 2022 with Texas Instruments and PHYTEC America
Summary
Taking a look at the EV charging demo on the TI booth, the brain behind that solution is the gateway – the AM62 MPU which was released just a few weeks ago. Berner has also been speaking with the experts over at the TI booth about GaN technology. He said: “Their opinion of GaN is that it’s very important but it depends on the voltage and total power. TI’s new Arm-based AM62x processors enable simpler and easier payment for EV charging. In this case, we’re utilising the Linux drivers and the stack there that’s included and we’re able to utilise the Wi link module for Wi-Fi and you can enable payments through your phone and things like that, via apps.” Berner adds: “You also have the option to add on an NFC card reader and then the display capabilities of that device give you that interface.”
