Dfwe Ransomware
Summary
A potent variant from the infamous STOP/Djvu Ransomware family, the Dfwe threat can devastate the computers it manages to infect. By using a military-grade encryption algorithm, the threat can lock numerous file types, rendering them completely inaccessible and unusable. The harmful operators of the threat will then proceed to extort their victims for money in exchange for assisting with the restoration of the valuable information. The ransom-demanding message of the Dfwe threat, like other members of the STOP/Djvu Ransomware family, states that victims will have to pay $980 to the cybercriminals. However, that initial sum can potentially be reduced by 50% to $490 with the only mentioned requirement being that users must contact the hackers within the first 72 hours of the ransomware infection.
