Zimperium Closes Acquisition by Liberty Strategic Capital and will Accelerate Mission of Strengthening Mobile Security Worldwide
Summary
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zimperium, the mobile security platform purpose-built for enterprise environments, today announced that it has closed its acquisition by Liberty Strategic Capital, the private equity firm founded and led by former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven T. Mnuchin. And as that happens, modern operating systems like Android and iOS are playing a more prominent role powering the devices people use in their personal and professional lives. “We’ve helped leading public and private organizations across the globe strengthen mobile security, and as we enter a high growth phase to help even more organizations, we look forward to working with Secretary Mnuchin and the team at Liberty Strategic Capital to guide and propel our company forward.” As Secretary of the Treasury and a member of the National Security Council, Secretary Mnuchin helped shape the U.S. governments approach to cyber threats, including supervising the design of new economic sanctions targeting Iranian, Russian, and North Korean cyber attackers and transnational cyber criminals, and using sanctions authorities to combat ransomware attacks. In that capacity, he worked directly with top U.S. regulators and chief executives of the largest U.S. financial institutions on cybersecurity preparedness, regulatory coordination, and incident response. J.P. Morgan Securities LLC acted as exclusive financial advisor to Zimperium, while Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP provided legal counsel.
