Slyce, a Toronto and Calgary, Canada-based visual product search company, is going public.The venture backed company has entered into a definitive amalgamation agreement with capital pool company Oculus Ventures Corporation, which will enable it to be publically listed on the TSX-V.The deal is still subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange and regulatory authorities.Led by Cameron Chell, Slyce provides visual search technology to brands and retailers enabling their customers to snap a smartphone picture of any item they find in the real world, or hover over any image online, and be provided with direct, or close-matching products from the retailer’s inventory.The company recently completed a $10.75m Series A financing, created a Nova Scotia based technology hub that intends to employ up to 60 staff, and acquired Toronto Visual Search Startup Hovr.It.
