CLEARink Displays , a Fremont, California-based developer of color and video capable ePaper 2.0 displays aimed at various market applications, received an investment from Lenovo, the Fortune (Global) 500 Company and a global leader in mobile devices. Lenovo made the investment via its investment unit Lenovo Capital and joined CLEARink’s board of directors. Founded in 2012 and led by Frank Christiaens, CEO & Chairman, CLEARink Displays is a leader in reflective display technologies for Tablets, Laptops Wearables, IoT displays, Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs), outdoor signage and automotive applications. Its a low power, sunlight readable, color/internet ready solution aims to solve the problems caused by traditional display technologies, which aren’t well suited for use in daylight. The company has raised over US$25m in financing from strategic investors such as M Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm from Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany (Dow Jones: MRK.DE) and Lenovo Capital.
