Singapore’s BandLab acquires DIY artist services platform ReverbNation
Launched in 2006, US-based ReverbNation offers digital distribution, as well as career management and online marketing tools for independent artists. ReverbNation’s former parent company eMinor says that it will now focus on its other software businesses, including its youth sports platform PlayMetrics. No other details of the deal have been released, but BandLab says that more information will be shared about product roadmap and future features in “due course”. Artist services are a key part of that plan, as evidenced by our recently announced subscriptions and distribution offerings. “This acquisition allows us to accelerate BandLab’s product roadmap and further enable us to break down technical, geographic, and creative barriers facing musicians and fans.” Added Meng Kuok: “We’ve known ReverbNation for a long time and had great respect for its ability to build a terrific artist services business.
