EazyDiner Pvt Ltd, a restaurant reservation platform launched by journalist and food writer Vir Sanghvi, along with a group of hoteliers and restaurateurs, has raised its first round of funding from consumer focused fund DSG Consumer Partners, Gulpreet Kohli, former managing director with privte equity firm ChrysCapital, and others, the company said on Thursday. “The F&B sector in India has been relatively slow to adopt new technologies, in tandem with the change in eating habits, lifestyle trends and consumer behaviour. EazyDiner is a platform that serves the needs of both the restaurants and diners,” Deepak Shahdadpuri, managing director at DSG Consumer Partners, said. The others include food critics Marryam H Reshii and Rashmi Uday Singh; Dilip Puri (MD for India & regional vice president for South Asia, Starwood Hotels and Resorts); Sourish Bhattacharyya (funder member of Delhi Gourmet Club); Amit Burman (vice chairman at Dabur India and founder and chairman at Lite Bite Food Restaurant Chain); and Gaggan Anand (chef and owner of Gaggan, Bangkok). It partners with fine-dining restaurants to create exclusive dining experiences like set meals, wine tastings and bespoke menus.
