Invenia Raises USD$5M in Series A Funding

Invenia, a Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada-based creator of a machine learning platform that optimizes power grids and reduces harmful emissions, raised USD$5M in Series A funding.The round was led by Zetta Venture Partners.The company intends to use the funds to continue scaling its operations.Led by Matthew Hudson, CEO and co-founder, Invenia provides a cloud based machine learning system that uses data and algorithms to add efficiency to the generation, transmission and delivery of electricity and reduction of CO2 and particulate emissions.Advisors include Zoubin Ghahramani (Cambridge, Chief Scientist of Uber) and Doyne Farmer (Oxford, co-founder of the Prediction Company, acquired by UBS).
