Receives Phase 1 DOE Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Round 3

Summary

As DEIC supports entrepreneurs driving innovation toward a net-zero carbon economy, we believe startups creating energy infrastructure solutions for data centers are a critical piece of advancing our goals across Virginia.This 11-week Hyperscaled program will be modeled after DEICs successful Accelerate program, and will feature additional education, mentorship, and investor connection opportunities. Participants may include startups focused on energy efficiency, water usage, resiliency, back up power generation, and more. Applications are now open at https://gust.com/programs/deic-accelerate-2024.EPIC Round 3 is part of OTTs broader Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) program, which provides funding and support to place-based accelerators and incubators to encourage robust growth of regional energy innovation ecosystems across the United States. DEIC was previously awarded an EPIC prize used to kickstart the SPARK Virginia program, designed to inspire, educate, seed, and launch advanced energy hard-tech startups across the Commonwealth.The Dominion Energy Innovation Center, located in Ashland, Virginia, supports early-stage advanced technology companies by providing them with the collaborative space, guidance, and resources needed to accelerate their growth.Founded in November 2009, the Dominion Energy Innovation Center accelerates great ideas across a wide spectrum of industry sectors in addition to its focus on building the clean technology sector in Central Virginia. Founding partners of the Center include the signature sponsor, Dominion Energy, as well as Activation Capital, the Town of Ashland and Hanover County.
