Edtech startup Teachmint raises $20 million - Times of India

CHENNAI: Live teaching platform Teachmint has raised $20 million in a pre-Series B round led by Learn Capital with participation from CM Ventures This is the company’s second funding round in just two months time as it raised $16.5 million in Series A funding from Learn Capital, CM Ventures, Lightspeed and Better Capital in May. With this latest round of funding, the company says its valuation has tripled in just two months.The current fundraise will go toward development of the tech stack for the live video teaching and aid Teachmint’s expansion into newer markets and hiring relevant talent to support growth.Teachmint offers a vernacular and proprietary video solution for teachers and is available in 10 Indian languages an in English. The video-first teaching platform built to help teachers digitise their classrooms has raised a total of around $40 million in external funds since its launch last year. "While our growth has largely been teacher-led with all kinds of educators registering on our platform, we have also recently seen inbound institutional interest from across the globe and working have recently launched a new institutional segment," Mihir Gupta , co-founder & CEO at Teachmint, said. It supports activities from automating attendance, fees collection and performance assessments to recording and storing lectures.
